Other piano techniques include playing chords in two parts (e.g. you play in a band or with a singer) you can choose to play only with one hand or with both, depending on how advanced things you are playing – when playing chords including many notes, using two hands can be advantageous (see Two-hands chords). So which hand do you play chords on piano with? The answer is that it depends.įor musical accompaniment (i.e.

It is also important to use the right fingers and this is called fingerings. As you make progress, you will find more ways of altering the outcome. A chord can be played by pressing down all the relevant keys simultaneously or each at a time. When you know which notes that belong to a chord, you can play it in several ways. C7, C9, C11), they are adding notes using intervals from the root of the chords with seventh, ninth and eleventh degrees. The Cm7 adds one note to Cm, the seventh in the C minor scale.

The Cmaj7 chord adds one note to C, the seventh in the C major scale. Building chordsĪ good way to learn chords on the piano is to be familiar with how they are constructed. In addition, chords with six or seven notes also exist. There are triads (three notes), four-note (sometimes called tetrachords) and five-note chords. One thing that differ among chords is how many notes that are included. There are lots of different chords that can be organized in different groups and categories. Gross.A chord is a group of notes that can be played together and function as the harmony in music. It's so well-oiled beyond just the broadcast crew in front of the camera.Įxcept for whoever designed the Ballysports score bar. From the people running cameras, to making graphics, to switching. I have nothing but all of the respect in the world for every person involved in FSD (now Ballysports) broadcasts. There's really not an accolade Mick and Ken haven't won yet as broadcasters, but this whole team is just incredible. When there's bullshit that's not fair, they call it out for either side. There's not a lot of times where I'm sitting here thinking anyone on our broadcast team has a "hot take" that's grossly inaccurate. But we know damn well not every hockey player can transition to a great color guy (looking at you, most every other team in the league and NBC). Mickey had years as a phenomenal hockey player. They're more beloved than a lot of the guys who actually lace them up. Honestly, they're as big a part of the team as the team itself is on the ice. Even over the past few years, they've loosened their ties a lot because they've got the personalities to do it.

It's been incredible watching the broadcast crew grow, too. But the chemistry they've all got, especially Ken and Mick, is unparalleled. It's not easy to engage people like they do when the topic of discussion is a team that sometimes get lit the hell up. Analyzed the good, the great, the bad and the ugly. They've been with this team through pure shit years (not Dead Wings style shit though) and have kept things alive and lively. Even Darren Eliot was great and Murph was a seamless addition (well, seamless comeback.)

But this broadcast team, all of them, is lightning in a bottle. I want to see them add another ring for what they do on air for this team. I want that Cup, to hear Ken's call and Mickey's celebration one last time before either of them sign off.
